OVERVIEW
Pakistan is a predominantly Muslim country. The repatriation process is relatively well established, and consular verification from the Pakistan Embassy in Korea is required.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
✓ Death certificate (issued by the hospital, with English translation)
✓ Copy of the deceased’s passport and alien registration card
✓ Certificate of embalming
✓ Non-contagious disease certificate
✓ Consular verification from the Pakistan Embassy in Korea
EMBALMING REQUIREMENT
Embalming is required for air transport. The certificate issued afterwards forms part of the customs documentation.
CASKET · PACKAGING
A casket meeting international transport standards is required. Some airlines may have additional packaging requirements, which we confirm at the time of booking.
CONSULAR PROCEDURE
To obtain consular verification of the death-related documents at the Pakistan Embassy in Korea, the deceased’s passport and death certificate are required. This step usually takes one to two days.
ESTIMATED TIMELINE
Approximately 5 days, once all documents are in place.
NOTES
Where the deceased is Muslim, an Islamic washing (ghusl) and prayer must be performed at a mosque. We coordinate this in accordance with the family’s wishes.
